The always brilliant poet, journalist, & teacher Abdul Ali asked me to reflect on Sacrilegion, my soon-to-be 4-year-old baby, as I work on my second full-length manuscript in earnest. Read our conversation here!
I've been thinking a lot about the heteroglossia black & brown people have (& will need to deploy) in this latest wave of Reconstruction white male terrorism.
I'm excited, too, that in a couple of days I'll get to celebrate the lessons Bob Kaufman, Henry Dumas, and others have to teach us at The Watering Hole Poetry retreat with Bettina Judd, Evie Shockley, Sharan Strange, Dasan Ahanu, Monifa Lemons, Candace Wiley, & others.
Thanks for the opportunity to muse, Abdul!
